Marshon Lattimore, New Orleans Saints cornerback and Northeast Ohio native, arrested in Cleveland

New Orleans Saints cornerback and Glenville High School graduate Marshon Lattimore was arrested Friday in .According to Cleveland police, the 24-year-old was arrested for CCW (failure to notify) and receiving stolen property. Police said Lattimore failed to promptly notify detectives that he had a CCW license and was in of a loaded concealed firearm. Following Lattimore’s arrest, he was booked into Cuyahoga County jail just after midnight on Friday.Lattimore was traveling in a car that was pulled over near East 97th Street and Carr Avenue for multiple traffic violations, police said. The car was observed without any taillights.The police statement of facts claims that officers smelled “the strong odor of burnt and unburnt marijuana,” which officers used as probable cause to search the vehicle. The statement of fact does not indicate that any marijuana was actually found.Police found a loaded gun in Lattimore’s possession. The gun was later determined to have been reported stolen out of Euclid.Authorities said they also found a loaded Glock 19 on the rear floor of the car during a search.The car’s driver was arrested for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and cited for a taillight violation. Two other passengers in the car were also arrested. They were arrested for having weapons under disability, police said.Lattimore’s attorney refuted the accusation.“Mr. Lattimore, a proud Cleveland native with no prior criminal record or history, is fully cooperating with law enforcement’s investigation of this matter,” said Marcus Sidoti, partner at Friedman, Gilbert + Gerhardstein. “He was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by police and was arrested without incident and was not formally charged. We believe that this was a misunderstanding and that this will become even clearer as new information becomes available and is shared with the authorities.”A three-time Pro-Bowler, Lattimore graduated from Glenville High School and played for Ohio University.
