Prepping for Medical Marijuana Jobs in Arkansas
Aspiring career changers in Arkansas can train for a job in the booming medical marijuana industry at specialized courses in North Little Rock this Saturday.
HempStaff, a medical marijuana staffing and training agency will hold their first class in Arkansas on Oct. 7. The four-hour Medical Marijuana Dispensary Agent Training Course is designed to prepare participants for work in a dispensary so that business owners are getting educated and well-prepared candidates when they start to fill new positions.
The course educates the participants on cannabis and cannabis products along with all the information to keep up-to-date with Arkansas’s medical marijuana laws. HempStaff offers its students a resume review to help best prepare them for seeking employment in this course as well. The end of the course offers a certification exam, that the student must score at least 75 percent to get a HempStaff Dispensary Agent Certification. Since HempStaff is also a recruiting agency, when employers seek to fill entry level dispensary agents or cultivation site workers, students are contacted first.
HempStaff has trained and certified over 3,000 dispensary agents nationwide since 2014 and is considered the leader in Medical Marijuana Dispensary Education. HempStaff continues to hold classes across the United States. In addition to the class held in Arkansas, classes are currently scheduled for Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Illinois, California, Michigan and New England.

Canadian Pot Producer to Hold Job Fair to Keep Up With Demand
With legal recreational sales of marijuana right around the corner, one of the companies that will supply New Brunswickers with cannabis is looking for new workers to meet the demand.
Last week, Finance Minister Cathy Rogers laid out the first steps that will see a new Crown corporation oversee recreational sales in the province. The provincial government still hasn’t provided details on a retail model or where these stores will go, according to CBC News.
But Organigram and Canopy Growth have secured a deal to supply at least nine million grams of cannabis a year for sale in the province.

Legal Pot Brings Bonanza of Gov’t Jobs in California
Scientists. Tax collectors. Typists. Analysts. Lawyers. And more scientists.
Recreational marijuana use becomes legal in California in 2018, and one of the things to blossom in the emerging industry isn’t green and leafy, it’s government jobs, according to the L.A. Times.
The state is on a hiring binge to fill what eventually will be hundreds of new government positions by 2019 intended to bring order to the legal pot economy, from keeping watch on what’s seeping into streams near cannabis grows to running background checks on storefront sellers who want government licenses. Thousands of additional jobs are expected to be added by local governments.
The swiftly expanding bureaucracy represents just one aspect of the complex challenge faced by California: Come January, the state will unite its longstanding medical cannabis industry with the newly legalized recreational one, creating what will be the United States’ largest legal pot economy.

Standing Room Only at Marijuana Job Fair in Pennsylvania
A standing room only crowd of more than 400 job seekers packed a ballroom in Danville, Pa., where resumes were collected and one-on-one interviews conducted for what will eventually be 100 hires in a medical marijuana facility due to begin operation in December.
There was barely enough standing room in the ballroom, located at 239 Mill St., to handle all the people standing, because the 250 seats were all taken about half an hour before the formal presentation began, according to The Daily Item.
“What an incredible turnout,” said Pete Kadens, CEO of Green Thumb Industries. “This is exactly why we came to Danville.”

Green on Green: Colorado Ranchers Create Zero-Carbon Footprint Pot Farm
Rob and Linda Trotter looked around at their TNT Ranch, at the fertile soil, at the snowmelt water that starts at 12,500 feet above sea level and flows to them before it goes anywhere else, and decided they should grow something.
And so they launched Pot Zero, which they say are the most environmentally conscious marijuana products in Colorado and beyond. Their outdoor grow operation creates no carbon footprint.
“We are blessed with fantastic mountain loam soil, intense ultraviolet light because of our 8,200-foot elevation and water that comes directly to our property from a pristine, 12,500-foot mountain,” Rob Trotter said.
A hydroelectric plant generates all the power the ranch needs and more.
